This is a superb antique candy box.

Paris porcelain hand painted with flowers.

It is decorated with gilt flowers to imitate a gilt bronze mount.

This is a speciality from the wellknown artist Paul Louchet.

This box is signed " Louchet Paris ".

It stands on a gilt bronze mount.

 

Paul Louchet ( 1854 - 1936)

French painter & sculptor.

He made and designed Art Nouveau jewels.

He worked with Emile Galle, Daum, Rene Lalique, and Argy Rousseau.

He made sculptures with gilt bronze or enameled bronze.

He made also ceramics with gilt patination to look like gilt bronze.
