JULES BRATEAU RARE ART NOUVEAU PEWTER BEER SET

This is a superb Art Nouveau period beer set.

Made of pewter, it is decorated with hop branches and barley.

Works of Art signed Jules Brateau, signed with also the mark at the reverse.

 

 

Jules Brateau (1844 - 1923) is a wellknown French Artist.

Sculptor, pewter maker, silversmith, he has made great quality items.

 

You can find such a set in the book " JULES BRATEAU" from Jean-Christophe Boucaud, page 89.

 

The beakears have been created in 1895 for TIFFANY.

The beer set has been created in 1897.
 

Dimensions:

Tray: 29,8 x 25,5 cm

Jug: Hight: 24,8 cm   Diameter: about 9,5 cm

Beakers: Hight: 11,5 cm   Diameter: about 7,5 cm

 

Period: 1897 - 1920

 

Good condition, only a few little scratches and little deformations of use.

This is a complete set for 2, rather difficult to find !
