This is a superb antique bisque figure.

Sevres porcelain bisque, signed  H. GAUQUIE


Henri Désiré Gauquié (1858 - 1927), since 1880 at the Salons, where he received several medals (third class in 1886, bronze in 1892, silver in 1900). His most famous sculptures are the Monument to Antoine Watteau (1896) in the Jardin du Luxembourg in Paris and Round of Cherubs (1897-1900) which decorate the famous Alexandre III bridge.

 

 

This superb Sevres bisque looks like the monument in the Jardin du Luxembourg, in Paris.

Marks from the Sevres manufacture with "AC" as an artist mark.

Dimensions:

Hight: 36,5 cm !  rather big

Base: 29 x 15,8 cm

Weight: 4,660 kilogrammes !!

Period: dated 1907


VERY GOOD CONDITION

Only one little chip at the base and at the back, another one under the base and inside.
