ANTIQUE FRENCH STERLING SILVER WINE TASTER 1760 - 1790

This is a lovely antique silver wine taster.

 

French XVIIIth Century silver marks " fermiers généraux".

A bit difficult to identify.

 

Inscribed and dated later: JB SAVRON DU GRAND CORMOT 1831.

 

We can find during the XVIIIth Century a family of SAV(e)RON, winemakers near Nolay, not far from Beaune, Bourgogne.

 

Dimensions:

 

Hight: 2,5 cm

 

Diameter: 8,5 cm

 

Weight: 114 grammes, rather heavy in hand.

 

Period: 1760 - 1790  (dated 1831 a bit later).

 

 

GOOD GENERAL CONDITION, only a tiny hairline on border.
